Real time pollen measurements

On display are counts of airborne pollen for each hour. The measuring station is installed at Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy, it is the only station in the Baltic states. Using laser and fluorescence technologies, individual airborne particles are scanned for recognition. This is the only option for real-time measurement of airborne particles. Results are reliable and based on scientific research by Vilnius University Šiauliai Academy aerobiologists – “A novel real‐time airborne pollen recognition and modelling system for allergenic pollen forecast” (REALTIME) 09.3.3-LMT-K-712-01-0066 REALTIME. This research is funded by the European Social Fund according to the activity ‘Improvement of researchers’ qualification by implementing world-class R&D projects’ of Measure No. 09.3.3-LMT-K-712. Our goal is to develop a digital airborne allergenic pollen identification library for real-time measurements in the Baltic Sea region and integrate data to the SILAM pollen forecasting model.
